If you’re a fan of Threadless.com you should take a minute to vote in their Bestee Awards. The designer of the winning shirt from 2008 receives $20,000. That’s right – FIVE zeros. And there are also plenty of sizable amounts being award in other various categories. Good luck to all.
The folks over at Threadless have a great ‘summer blockbuster’ sale that should not be missed. Shirts from as low as 10 bucks through the 8th of June. No coupon code needed. Threadless is one of the bigger shops we post on. While their sales volume has far outgrown the ‘indie/boutique’ store level they still have a lot of really creating stuff going on – which can be attributed to their design competition model.
Another design competition from Threadless.com. Winning this one could score you tickets to this years Lollapalooza and some sweet cash. The challenge is simple – design an exceptional tee based on the true meaning of Lollapalooza.
The guys at Threadless always have something cool going on. During the month of April you can take part in a design contest that’s wrapped around Moby’s new album Last Night. Create your ‘last night’ inspired designs and submit them through the end of the month. The chosen designer will not only have their design produced and sold on Threadless.com, but will also receive $2000 in cash, a $500 Threadless Gift Certificate, a full catalog of moby albums, a framed and autographed Last Night album artwork, and full Ableton DJ suite.
To get the creative juices flowing you can download a free sampler track from Moby’s new album here. (courtesy mute.com).
Quick post to start the week before we dive in with some fresh reviews. Threadless.com has got a bunch of stuff on sale from $10. Sale ends Dec. 16th. No coupon code necessary, just the will to shop.
Few picks for today from the big and popular shops. Busted Tees with a spin on Freud (Yo Mama) and after the jump the very funny Triple Nerd Score, which actually came out a bit ago, but hey, we’re running behind. I’ve also posted up a nice re-issue from Threadless. I love this shirt – Emotional Trip, glad to see them bring it back for another round. Don’t miss it.
Congrats to Threadless on the upcoming opening of their retail store in Chicago. The new store opens on September 14th and will feature a floor of retail and a second level of gallery space featuring many of the Threadless designers. Cool stuff.

Haven’t posted up Threadless in while. Here’s a couple new tees (above) and a great reprint after the jump. ‘Nerds (2 Squared) Ever’ is¬† ridiculous and funny. The ‘Hidden’ (flower print) is very cool. And the reprint of Josh Perkins “Live in Harmony” is promotes the unity of the acoustic and electric guitar in the post-modern world. Ok, I made that crap up, but it’s a cool tee.
Interesting read for fans of Threadless.com. A recent articles New York Times talks about the nature of the company and it’s user submitted shirt designs. Few intersting tidbits – Threadless has sold ‘millions’ of dollars in t-shirts. Impressive feat for any online tee shop regardless of size. They also talk about some how designs make it through and are printed regardless of receiving poor voting scores. It seems Threadless often excercies their own editorial hand in selecting what get’s produced.
