True Jeans for a True Fit

True Jeans

Ok. I know I’m off topic. I like to sometimes post up some long sleeve shirts and hoodys, but Jeans? You don’t even wear them on your arms! Well, so be it. The folks at True Jeans dropped me a note and ask me to check out unique way their site works, so I thought it well worth passing along.

Buying jeans is a pain in the ass for most people (alright, terrible pun). But really. Jeans are one of those items that is so individual and really has to fit right to compliment your bodystyle. True Jeans has a system where you enter your measurements and select from a variety of bodytypes / shapes. Based on that info they offer up suggestions of what styles and brands of jeans would fit you the best. It’s a great idea, and long overdue. For me it turns out Blue Cult, Kasil and Chip and Pepper would fit the best – for what that’s worth. Anway, check it out. Cool stuff.

John Smeaton Tribute T-Shirt

Chris over at Bonaroo just dropped me a note on a t-shirt they whipped together honoring an everyday guy turned hero – John Smeaton. John, an airport baggage handler, was caught in the middle of the chaos at the Glasgow airport as terrorists crashed their jeep into the front of the building.

“I saw a jeep crashing into the front of the building. I saw a man get out of the passenger side and a policeman was coming to assist and the man attacked him.

“I thought that’s not right’ and went to help and others did the same.

What Would John Smeaton Do? is available at Bonaroo Prison of Fashion. Check out John Smeaton’s fansite here.

Phillips LED T-Shirts – Light Emitting Textiles

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

This is crazy technology. If it wasn’t for the video I wouldn’t believe it. These shirts use something called Lumalive technology by Phillips. Basically it’s an array of LEDs some how embedded in the fabric. They can create a full spectrum of colors and moving imagery. These shirts and this LED technology look like something out of movie. Can you imagine walking around with TV picture on your t-shirt? Looks like it could very well happen. When’s the HD version come out?

No Muff.org t-shirt

I think one of the coolest things about t-shirt culture is how quick you can get a shirt to market. Shirt retailers that keep up on pop culture and current events can reap the rewards with a little bit of wit and humor. Case in point, our recent post about Brook Burke and Kelly Monaco wearing No Scruf t-shirts to promote clean shaven men has quickly given way to a nice spin off from Moe Wampum. The No Muff shirt (National Organization of Men for the Unshaven Female Form) is a nice response and rides the current buzz.
