I see a lot of shirts writing this blog. There’s a lot of funny stuff out there, but a lot of it looks the same. After a while you really feel like you’ve seen everything before. Needless to say it’s a rare thing when I hit a site and instantly laugh out loud. IsMyHomeGirl had me laughing. I defy you to look at Barack Obama in lipstick and earings and not laugh. The shirts are an interesting twist on the political tee. Bold, graphic, ridiculous and memorable.
One of the nice things is that they have tees of so many political figures. It’s not just the poll leaders. You see a lot of Heather Mills promoting political causes, but you’ll soon see more of her trying to dance with one left on Dancing With the Stars. I’m thinking there are some good parody shirts to come out of that.

I Stumbled this yesterday and thought it was pretty damn funny. It’s a tag from a small American t-shirt company that sells products in France. Here is how the French portion of the tag translates:
Wash with warm water.
Use mild soap.
Dry flat.
Do not use bleach.
Do not dry in the dryer.
Do not iron.
We are sorry that our president is an idiot.
We did not vote for him.

(Product) Red‚Ѣ is all the rage. If you’re unfamiliar with Product Red check out the official site. Basically the concept is a group of companies putting out Red branded products that help raise money to fight AIDs. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of (Product) Red merchandise will be used to distribute anti-retroviral medicine to people dying of AIDs in Africa. The GAP is on board and one of the mens shirts is shown above - as is Penelope Cruz sporting a Red shirt. Apple, Nike, American Express and other have put out limited run products - typically Red, but not always - to help raise money. Pretty cool idea and the products are good as well. The Red iPod Nano is particularly cool. So if you’re a politically minded t-shirt wearer than the Gap shirts are the thing for you.
Surprisingly we’re lacking a lot of political t-shirt posts. But leave to the celebrities to proudly sport the political wear. Needless to say this is old ass photo of Ana Gasteyer sporting a John Kerry t-shirt, or is it a tank top - what the hell did she do it? Anway, a good start to our political tees gallery.
