Take Pride T Shirt

I’ll admit that when I hear about patriot, American pride t-shirts, the first thing I think of are gaudy, overdone Red, White and Blue shirts with the proverbial flag. TakePride.com has a fresh, youthful spin with a line of tees inspired by our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are also donating 20% of their profits to charities that assist combat veterans including the USO and Wounded Warrior Project.

EJF Tees

A few weeks ago we spotted Jennifer Love Hewitt wearing a Save the Future tank. Turns out the shirt comes from the EJF – Environmental Justice Foundation. There’s more a bit info on the EJF after the jump, but the short story is that the tee was part of their Supermodels Support Cotton campaign. Shop from the line of shirts here. All shirts are 100% organic cotton and use Soil Association certified printing.

Marc Jacobs Hillary Clinton Shirt

Hillary Clinton T-Shirt

Designer Marc Jacobs is getting political in all kinds of ways. A couple weeks ago we posted on his naked Posh Spice shirt. Today he’s at it again with a Hillary Clinton tee. Thankfully Hillary is not naked, just really really big. The tee goes for $38 and, as you’d imagine, a portion of proceeds go toward Hillary’s presidential bid. While it’s no will.i.am video, it’s a least something for Hillary’s ailing campaign.

Pete Wentz Wears Obama

Pete Wentz wearing an obama t-shirt

Fallout Boy’s Pete Wentz has stepped out and officially (I guess) endorsed Barack Obama for President. Interesting to see how the celebrity camp takes sides in an election year. Here’s Pete sporting his Obama t-shirt at some event. At think you’re a lot more likely to find the youthful endorsers sporting political tees than Hollywood’s older A-listers.

Flashback Politics with Retro Campaigns

Adlai All the way

Are you undecided in this years presidential election? Can’t decide on Barack or Hillary? No worries. Retro Campaigns puts a cool (old) spin on the political tee – and you’ll already know exactly who won, or lost. They’ve got a great collection of ‘classic’ political tees inspired by campaigns and candidates long gone by. So if you’re stuck in the 70’s you can still support Carter and McGovern.

Brittany Murphy

With 2008 being an election year I have no doubt we’re going to see an endless stream of celebrities wearing Rock the Vote t-shirts. First up, Brittany Murphy. While they’re not the most exciting t-shirt we’re certainly a fan of the message. And if celebrities in t-shirts is what it takes to get voters to the polls the so be it.

Got a good political tee for the upcoming election season? Make sure you drop us a line.

Politically Correct Gifts Ideas from Progresswear

Political Tees from Progresswear

We reviewed Progresswear a while back and they quickly became one of our favorite shops. So we’re more than happy to pass along a couple of t-shirt tidbits. They’ve permanently reduced the price of their women’s shirts and are offering a limited time deal on free shipping. If you’ve got a politically savvy, t-shirt-wearing, gift-worthy friend to shop for this season a Progresswear gift certificate would do the trick.

We’ve posted up a couple of new shirts after the jump. Both great spins on the Christian right. I’m sure I’m repeating some of what I said in my initial review, but Progresswear’s stuff is cut above. There’s a sensitivity to design, and especially type, that is clearly present in both the shirt designs and their web site. I’ve always said I love t-shirt design because it’s an accessible medium for creative entrepreneurs, but there’s a clear difference when you’ve got true designers at the helm. The results are well executed shirts, pared down to their simplest form, yet incredibly impactful.

Evolve Design Tee from Progresswear.com

Progresswear.com says it’s straight up: “Never discuss politics or religion at dinner. Wear them instead.” Designer Patrick King has done exactly that, with a powerful line of political slogan tees. Bold, no nonsense messaging, perfectly executed with a true designer’s eye.

Progresswear’s line up of political slogans is guaranteed to get you noticed and start conversations. These aren’t silly political humor slogans or petty insults. These are passionate statements about politics and religion in America.

Katharine McPhee Wants to Save Ellis Island

Katharine McPhee in a Save Ellis Island T-Shirt

I’ll admit I wasn’t aware the Ellis Island needed saving. That kind of sounds wrong, I mean, I didn’t know there was a campaign to save it.¬† Anyway, here’s American Idol’s Katharine McPhee promoting the cause with a Save Ellis Island tank top. More info here.
