Nau Organic Cotton T-Shirt

Just stumbled across these guys. Nau carries a complete line of ‘active’ or outdoor apparel for men and women. They tout environmentally friend materials like organically grown cottons. The Stitch Tree Shirt (shown above) is a Jersey-knit blend of 90% organic cotton and 10% spandex. $55.00. They have a nice line of additional long sleeves and outwear. And one hell of a well done Flash site. Give them a look.

Fashion Interactive 2.0

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

One of the largest global PR agencies, Katchum, has announced the launch of Fashion Interactive 2.0, a new apparel marketing initiative. It will use both traditional marketing channels as well as new media outlets such as social networks, blogging and ‘word-of-mouth experiential’ marketing.

It sounds like Ketchum is formally putting into action what a lot of our smaller shop owners have known for a while - new media provides an endless array of marketing opportunities. We posted here and here on the use of YouTube for self-produced, self-published commercials. And youthful creatives have been using social media like MySpace and Facebook to promote products from the getgo. And guess what, it’s pretty much all free!

Ketchum promotes a ‘proprietary program’ with measurable results. As a marketer myself I can tell you there is a bit of an art and science, and some methods are better than others, but for the smaller shop owners out there I encourage you to just get to it.

Vintage Vintage Loves You

Vintage Vantage T-Shirt

Vintage Vantage is one of those shops that just cracks me up. They’ve got a good-sized collection of vintage looking designs and no shortage of puny, silly slogans. Really, where else can you get a t-shirt with a slogan about shin splints. Come on.

Our sample tees rank super high on the softness scale. Awesome. Good fit, nicely printed. And if you really want a truly vintage tee, Vintage Vantage sells ‘em. A bunch of stuff you can buy for a fixed price off their ‘top shelf’ or bid on number of eBay auctions. And I can’t pass up mentioning their Duct Tape wallets. Ridiculous enough you just can’t do without one.

Going Topless California Style

Topless Hollywood Heartbreakers Women’s tee

First time post for us on Topless California. Cool line of tees available, among other places, at StyleRocket.com. They feature ultra-thin 100% cotton that’s been enzyme washed and pre-distressed for that super-vintage look and feel, without the authentic vintage funk. Couple that caught our eye were the women’s Hollywood Heart Breakers tee and the men’s Breakfast of Champions.

Barry Bonds Hits 756* (with an asterisk)

Barry Bonds Record T-Shirt

Busted Tees has the Barry Bonds ‘tribute’ shirt available for presale. Just 14.99. 756 home runs, well, with a small asterisk that is. Poor Bonds will forever be plagued. I’m not that big of a baseball fan, but the record just doesn’t seem the same as Hank Aaron’s did.

First Giving T-Shirt

Big thanks to the folks over at FirstGiving.com. They dropped us a couple nice tees this week. And more importantly, helped us get our T-Shirt Watch charity off the ground. It’s a modest effort, but it’s something.

And thank you to the shops who have made donations so far:

80s Tees
EveryTshirt.com
Spraygraphic Apparel

If you’d like your shop featured check out our charity page and made a small donation to our effort.

Jinx Saw Your Mom on the Internet

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Short and sweet. The guys from Jinx have created an effective line of t-shirt commercials which can all be found on YouTube. Today’s installment is for their I Saw Your Mom on the Internet tee. Funny as hell unless the guy reading it doesn’t think so.
