True Love & False Idols - Real Cool
Tuesday, July 10th, 2007If you haven’t run across True Love & False Idols yet (TLFI for those in the know) you might need your vision checked. These guys are everywhere these days. From Hollywood’s beautiful to MMA’s bloody, it’s hard not to catch someone sporting TLFI garb. And for good reason - they’ve got cool stuff.
Big graphic prints. Front, back - everywhere. It’s a super-textural, multi-layered, organic explosion of design. Our sample tee’s a great example. The back also has silver layered over the print as well. It’s a subtle touch that adds nice dimension. The shirt is nice and soft and sized just a bit more generously than the currently popular vintage reissues - which tends to run small. Great fit.

Friday, July 6th, 2007Get Your Geek On
Thursday, July 5th, 2007These guys cracked me up. Simple stuff, it’s puny, funny and, ah geeky. Geekfitters.com is the shop. The shirt above - Chess Players Know How to Mate is perfect for the chess club geeks. Their spin on the wet tee is funny with the Dry T-Shirt Winner and I Put the Bad in Badminton screams geek all the way off the badminton court and into the alley where badminton players meet their fate. At least that’s how it was at my high school. Funny shirts perfect for the inner geek in all of us.

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007Become Your Own Local Celebrity
Monday, July 2nd, 2007Hard to believe it’s been a year since I posted up something from the guys at Local Celebrity. Especially considering they’re every you look these days - from Pax Jolie to the latest issue of Maxim magazine (you know, the one with Megan Fox - you couldn’t have missed THAT).
I’ve give you two simple reasons why Local Celebrity is popular (well, aside from being seen on real celebrities) - 1) The shirts are funny. 2) The shirts are soft. Really, really soft. Seriously peep. I’m talkin’ 100 wash soft -right out the rack. You’d have to search out something vintage to achieve this feat. They got that vintage look and feel, without the vintage smell.
We’ve hand picked a few of our favorites below.

Monday, July 2nd, 2007John Smeaton Hero Tee
Monday, July 2nd, 2007Chris over at Bonaroo just dropped me a note on a t-shirt they whipped together honoring an everyday guy turned hero - John Smeaton. John, an airport baggage handler, was caught in the middle of the chaos at the Glasgow airport as terrorists crashed their jeep into the front of the building.
“I saw a jeep crashing into the front of the building. I saw a man get out of the passenger side and a policeman was coming to assist and the man attacked him.
“I thought that’s not right’ and went to help and others did the same.
What Would John Smeaton Do? is available at Bonaroo Prison of Fashion. Check out John Smeaton’s fansite here.
